Be a "beta tester"

Interested in learning how to make decisions using simple Excel spreadsheets? Be one of the first to use Simple Spreadsheets for Hard Decisions.

We'll send you a preview copy of the complete book. It's available right now. Use it and send us your comments. We want to be sure that this book works perfectly with your computer and your Excel version, and that it helps you make your decisions. Later, when the book is published, you'll get one of the first copies, even before it's available to the general public. You might even be mentioned in the acknowledgements, if you don't mind. We'll send you a T shirt as well, if you want. Help us make this the best Excel book ever!

What you'll do

Send us an application. We want reviewers representing a range of operating systems, Excel versions, and experience levels. We'll send you a bound copy of the book, including a CD-ROM of the example spreadsheets. Work through the book at your computer. Jot down any comments. Long, general comments are also welcome. Please return all of your comments within 60 days.

Here are some of the issues that we want to know about:

  • Examples do not work as in the book (tell us exactly what happened when you tried it)
  • Explanations not clear
  • Asking you to do things you had not learned yet
  • Language not clear
  • Typos
  • Inconsistencies

You only need to point out problems. You do not need to suggest a fix, but may do so if you wish.

Apply now

Please print out the application, complete it, sign it, and mail it to us. We'll send you the "beta" version of the book right away. (U.S. addresses only, please.) Thank you!
